Daily Bread - John 3: 1 - 36

Daily Bread

John 3: 1 - 36

Jhn 3:1
Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council.

Jhn 3:2
He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

Jhn 3:3
In reply Jesus declared, “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

Jhn 3:4
“How can a man be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!”

Jhn 3:5
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.

Jhn 3:6
Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

Jhn 3:7
You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’

Jhn 3:8
The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Jhn 3:9
“How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

Jhn 3:10
“You are Israel's teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things?

Jhn 3:11
I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.

Jhn 3:12
I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things?

Jhn 3:13
No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven–the Son of Man.

Jhn 3:14
Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,

Jhn 3:15
that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.

Jhn 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jhn 3:17
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jhn 3:18
Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

Jhn 3:19
This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

Jhn 3:20
Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

Jhn 3:21
But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God.”

Jhn 3:22
After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized.

Jhn 3:23
Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptized.

Jhn 3:24
(This was before John was put in prison.)

Jhn 3:25
An argument developed between some of John's disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing.

Jhn 3:26
They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan–the one you testified about–well, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”

Jhn 3:27
To this John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven.

Jhn 3:28
You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.’

Jhn 3:29
The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.

Jhn 3:30
He must become greater; I must become less.

Jhn 3:31
“The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all.

Jhn 3:32
He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.

Jhn 3:33
The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful.

Jhn 3:34
For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the Spirit without limit.

Jhn 3:35
The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands.

Jhn 3:36
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him.”

There is just so much so be said about these verses. Constantly the word confirms our need to keey our eyes and hearts upon Jesus Christ if we want to enter the Kingdom of God in everlasting life.

verse 17 points out that Jesus did not come to earth to condemn people but in order to save people. Yes the day is coming that Jesus Christ will judge us accordingly but until then our purpose is to help save people from preaching the Gospel to everyone without missing one soul. Praise God and Thank You Jesus!

How blinded we can be even when we have the proof in front of us directly from GOD. Jesus is above all things and we need and have to come to realization that He will judge us when that day comes. Our purpose is only for Him alone, not our needs and feelings. The greatness of being able to preach the gospel to our brothers and sisters as commanded by Jesus. To know that the only way to eternal life with Him is through Him alone is the Ultimate reward!

Awesome! Jesus is above us all and in this we should take heed. We are all messenger in Christ and must exalt Him the wisdom of His ways! Not just for eternal life or thankfulness but out of love for our God.

The choice is ours to make. We are given the option to follow God into the light that he shows us but yet we choose to approach them in another way. It is similar to defying God in some ways since we believe in something more than the truth. It is purely a manner to which we have grown hard headed and give in to our own wants and beliefs, making lives complicated when they can in fact be simple.

It is through baptism that we are made spiritually rich. However, we choose not to at times since we tend to give in to people who would tell us otherwise. We deprive ourselves of cleansing of our souls. We are only living one part of life that is waiting to be discovered.

Jesus' message to Nicodemus is applicable to all us.

"No one can see the kingdom of God, unless he is born again".

Jesus is telling us that we need to die to ourselves (die our old ways) and be reborn with God's grace. The Lord wants us to be less of ourselves and more of Him.

As with the story of John the Baptist, even though many see him as one great prophet, he denied that and placed Jesus infront of him. He recognizes his role as only the voice coming in the desert, preparing the way of the Lord.

Thus, the message for all of us is to put Jesus infront of our lives. Let us decrease as Jesus increases in our lives. For it is written:

"..that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:16 - something we hear or read about often. :) The message of this is just actually very simple --- it is all about God's infinite love. How wonderful it is that we are given this chance to experience it!

yes, your correct lira..
the message is really very simple.. sadly though, some Christians still fail to grasp the true meaning of God's love for them. Many still continues to choose the path of sin and unrighteousness, a far cry from the wonderful plans that God has for them.

With respect to Ms. Christina’s comment, I agree that most people today are blindsided by what they see in front of them. Gone is the essence of looking beyond materialistic satisfaction. We just tend to be content with what we can gain from this world and disregard what Jesus has for us once judgment day falls.

We all believe in principle. But believing in heart is another thing. Being open to everything, looking beyond what we have, what we see right now is something we all fail to recognize. There is simply more than meets the eye.

Eric, you are right that we are all messengers in Christ. The key is moving in faith in what the Lord wants us to do. After the resurrectino of Jesus Christ; He clearly commanded us to go into the world and preach the gospel. Thus there is one calling we all have which is to share the gospel in the name of Jesus Christ. Our faith in Jesus Christ will provide us with everlasting life in the Kingdom of God. All Praise and Glory to Jesus Christ!
