SACRIFICE PART 2

With much loss come great gain. We make sacrifices for the benefits to come. While I was listening to the song "Highly Favored One" by Lindsy Morton I was able to see how much pain one must endure at times of sacrifice. I remember the thoughts I have had about Mary. How lucky I thought she was to be the mother of Jesus Christ. How blessed she was to be chosen from all woman. At times I felt a feeling like envy but there was one part I never really thought much about until recently especially listening to this beautiful song about the mother of Jesus Christ.

The bible clearly states how blessed Mary was to be chosen and she even had the angel Gabriel talk directly to her.

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name [was] Mary.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Many times we miss what was required of Mary to be such a Highly Favored One amongst all woman. This meant that Mary would have to give birth as a Virgin to the most perfect child to ever walk this earth. Imagine the bond and love that Mary had for Jesus Christ. She was the mother of God in flesh. After more than 30 years of loving her Son, her Teacher and her Saviour she had to bare something else that no other woman has ever felt or ever will. She watched her perfect Son that literally did nothing wrong get beaten, abused, tormented, hated, crucified and put to death by the world. There was great sacrifice for Mary to be the Highly Favored One among all woman.

If you are struggling with hard times at this moment or if you are bearing an unimaginable amount of pain. I pray that God will open your eyes to the rewards of sacrifice and know that it is during sacrifice we become closer to our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.

SACRIFICE

Hbr 11:4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

Hbr 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of [our] lips giving thanks to his name.

What does man define as sacrifice?

The act of offering something to a deity in propitiation or homage, especially the ritual slaughter of an animal or a person.

Forfeiture of something highly valued for the sake of one considered to have a greater value or claim.

Sacrifice is losing or giving up something (of value/worth) for the good benefit of another person or cause. I now realize that from the very beginning we were created by God in sacrifice. Ultimately everything was created by God. Everything including Satan, sin, death and murder.

Why would such a loving and perfect God create such terrible things? or how about this question that I am so very familiar with myself. Is this all really worth it? Have you ever thought this; if I was never put on this earth I would never be burdened with making these decisions or have to face the possibility of heaven or hell? Have you ever said to God, I never asked to be put on this earth in the first place? If so, lets put everything into perspective so that we will appreciate the love and glory of Jesus Christ and God our Father. The answer is simple it is sacrifice but we need to understand the answer so that it is fulfilling in truth and it will take away these questions and cast away a couple more of Satan's many lies and misconceptions of truth.

It all comes down to sacrifice. God had to sacrifice so much to give us this gift of free will that ultimately benefits us the most in the end. Does it benefit God; of course it does but I want you to see how God had our best interest in mind and how God gives up more for us to have this than we do with our little time on this earth. In such a way you will no longer have a thought of comparison.

When God first created man He sacrificed more than the world can ever see. God did not create evil for the purpose of evil. When God created man He created something very special beyond all other creations. We know Satan was created before man for a simple reason. When God created Adam and Eve He gave them something special called "choice" or "free will". If we did not have choice then we would be robots and we would not have a free will. Why would God want us to have something so powerful as free will? To God we become real, we become meaningful, we bring purpose and we fulfill one of His greatest creations which is love. Just think for a moment what it took for God to give us free will.

It takes good and evil to make us have a decision so that we do in deed have free will. Although this can be very painful to a man or woman at times in life. Realize that when God created evil He knew that all the perfect creations of His such as man, woman and angels would be divided and He would have to lose part of His perfect creation for the gain of what is left. Simply put; many will spend eternity in hell and the rest will be with God Almighty in eternal life. Whatever is cast into Hell is really God's and once was a perfect creation, even Satan. So it is God who loses something that was His and was perfect. Can you now start to see how much God sacrificed for us before Adam and Eve walked this earth? Even after that, God came to earth Himself and sacrificed His life in flesh. All in all, God has sacrificed Himself to us both in spirit and in flesh.

Why would God create something that would cause Him so much pain and something that will actually take a part of Him away forever. In the end; God's children are His by our own will. Not because we were forced to but because we chose to because we were not blind to His love. As the days get shorter the devil is working harder to make people believe in everything but God. Satan is also working hard on those who do believe in God by limiting our beliefs in his power and existence. Do not be blinded to the sacrifice God has given to you before you made any sacrifice in your life whatsoever towards His glory. Why do you think we were commanded to give sacrifices to God? So that we could be conditioned to understand the meaning of sacrifice in order that we could see the great love that God had for us before man was even created.

I want to reflect on the following 11 verses from the bible:
(I was always puzzled by these 11 verses)

Mat 4:1
¶
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

Mat 4:2
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

Mat 4:3
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

Mat 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Mat 4:5
Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

Mat 4:6
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

Mat 4:7
Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Mat 4:8
Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

When I read God's word I find myself asking questions like, why would God do that if He is God? If Jesus is God then why would Satan have tempted Him? If Jesus is God then why does Jesus say the Father is greater than I?

Time after time God has revealed answers, that provide the answers, that take away the why to a point I can no longer find a why. This is when you find truth. Truth will bear witness to itself and ultimately divide good and evil like a two edged sword. Let's focus on the temptation of Jesus for now.

If I read these 11 verses before I felt as if the devil had some control over Jesus to a degree before Jesus cast him away. These verses may sound like they are saying that the devil had the power to take Jesus on top of a pinnacle and that the devil had some sort of power or control of Jesus.

Please pay attention to the first verse:

Mat 4:1¶Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

This verse puts everything into perspective because the verse is clearly stating that Jesus went to Satan to be tempted. Satan did indeed tempt Jesus so that he could know if in fact it was the real Messiah. Satan tempted Jesus in a way that would prove if Jesus was God on earth. Satan does have power but even his power comes from Jehovah GOD. Satan knew the prophecies from the old testament better than any other man on earth but I don't think he knew what the Son of GOD was going to look like before he was born until he was in fact born and actually manifested himself. Jesus Christ manifested himself to the entire world through his death but Jesus manifested Himself to Satan when Jesus went to the wilderness so that Satan could tempt Him. Satan placed Jesus on a pinnacled only because Jesus allowed him too in order that He could manifest to Satan that He was here and He is claiming what is His because He bought and paid for us in full with His innocent blood that poured on the cross for the sins of the entire world.

Satan never had any power over Jesus and as it also clearly states that Satan left as soon as Jesus said to go. It is also clear that GOD loves us so much that he brings Himself down to our level so that we can have a real understanding of the truth. In short, these verses are saying that Jesus went to Satan and said it is now time for me to take back what is mine because I am GOD and I have all power over you. Because of the questions Satan asked he knows that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Lord and Saviour. Satan had to become more real with how short his time is at this point. Satan has one passion and that is to take as much of God's creation with him in eternal death as he can. The more he takes the more God hurts. This is the war behind all wars. Most call this the "Spiritual War".

I will follow up with this posting explaining how God answered my prayers and searching for the following question: Is Jesus GOD? Many times God will give us our answers when we very well least expect it but it is always at the perfect time. Besides, what other way could it be. Today I was praying on my wife. It was while my eyes were closed and I was praying for her silently that at the end of my prayer I saw the answer of why satan would tempt Jesus. For me this just didn't make sense to me before. But now it seems so simple and so clear. Please feel free to post your comments on this subject and praise God that we have this ability at this time to share Jesus Christ with each other. I remember sitting there watching her play the piano and sing this perfect song. I was in awe the entire song. I could fill the meaning of every word and my spirit was touched in Spirit. Death By Meth

Death By Meth

today I have met my match
piece by piece I was broken down
now I am tormented by failure and wrath
and my will power is no where to be found

the wounds have forever scarred my soul
with the bitter taste of death
because everything I cherished most
fell victim to my addiction to meth

in complete ignorance I made the awful choice
to smoke that demonic pipe regardless of the voice

that so strongly told me not too
but I thought I had the power to overcome
realize once this drug has got you
a slave to misery is what you become

i write every word in agony
i am scared to sleep or rest
because then I must face reality
i chose death by doing meth

family has become memories
just pictures of my past
i am now my worst enemy
my reflection is broken glass

clouds shadow my every breath of life
i cannot find the words to describe
the aches and pains I endure inside
and all I can say is why

oh, how sad it really is
to watch a Godly man be destroyed
Lord have mercy on my kids
three beautiful girls and a handsome boy

to all that I love I leave you with this

I don't think I will ever forget the very night I wrote this poem. It was my fourth or fifth day being up without sleep. This was not out of the ordinary for me now it was my routine. Stay up for endless days then sleep then start over. Like other nights this was going to be the night I took my life and ended the horror I created. Right before I wrote this I was in a room with two other people and I was looking at before and after pictures on the Internet of people that have been on meth for awhile. I remember sitting in the chair in front of the computer crouched over the desk with a meth pipe in my hand taking hits. The other two people I was with wanted to inject meth from a needle so I left the room and sat in the next room. It was then on the recliner next to the front door that I wrote this poem and reflected on the demon called meth.

Every word in this poem had so much emotion behind it. I will explain a couple lines that some may not get at first. When I say "my reflection is broken glass" I am referring to another name for meth. Meth holds many names such as speed, glass, go fast and there is more. So what I am really saying is I have become meth. The next line is "clouds shadow my every breath of life." When you smoke meth it is called blowing clouds and when you are addicted to meth then all you do is snort, smoke, inject or eat meth. Sad but true. What this really means is all I do is smoke meth which means I was addicted.

I could write so much more but this is what I want you to know. If you are addicted to meth or know someone who is then never give up hope and I will tell you why. If you will just find a reason or help that person find a reason then the fight against addiction has started. Here is the trick to making it really easy to do. If you make Jesus Christ your reason one day at a time then I promise it will be a piece of cake. Do not think about being clean and drug free for a year or two or three. Only think about today if you want to make it anywhere. Let God give you His strength each day if you want guaranteed results. If you do it your way you may get somewhere but you will end up nowhere. Become an addict for Jesus so that when you do stumble you will just start over and get back on track doing what you were doing right just like the addict for meth will start their routine over and over.

Lord Jesus thank you for loving us all enough to deliver us from this demon called meth. Give us the wisdom and knowledge to surrender all and allow you to put us in peace and fulfilment in Christ. Lord I ask that you will give us mercy and grace against meth and all its evil doings. I know it is destroying men, woman, children and families across the world. May this distraction be cast aside so that our eyes will focus only on You Lord in the name of Jesus Christ. AMEN.

Creation's Witness - CREATION

CREATION

The Scripture: Since the creation of the world the invisible things of God, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what God has made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:20


The Image: I was driving on California highway 1 looking for photographic possibilities when I saw this white fogbow. Although the fogbow was interesting, it was not enough to make a good photograph. I drove on looking for additional objects to compliment the fogbow. A few minutes later I saw Bean Hollow State Beach. The curved beach was interesting and waves were breaking near the shore. This image is the best of four exposures. The breaking wave makes this photograph stand out.


Landscape photography often involves a search for interesting subjects. When you find something interesting, continue looking for ways to compose the foreground or background. Moving around will help you see other possibilities and will often result in a stronger image.


In this situation the fogbow alone would not have been enough to create a powerful image. The beach with its interesting rocks and curved shape complemented the fogbow. The wave was the final unifying object, giving the image dynamic movement.

I couldn't help but to spend some time on the Creation's Witness website and look and the beautiful Christina art. This one was perfect for the moment. I am looking forward to the day I get some of these for my home. It is obvious that the Lord has blessed David with the perfect picture.

in order to bring peace
there must be war

I wrote CONVICTION last night and I am sure it is a writing I will continue sometime in the future. Another Christian writing that touches on some areas many manage to avoid. I wrote it while listening to an instrumental from the David Crowder Band. The instrumental is called "Coming Toward" from their CD entitled Illuminate. I was writing CONVICTION in a rap format from beginning to end but as you see in the midst of my writing I was convicted of having to face something I never accepted in the seriousness that it is.

I thought about those that I love most in my life. Then I imagined myself during our great day of judgment being accepted into God's Kingdom. So how can something so good go so bad? Then I thought about looking back and seeing those whom I love most being sentenced to eternal damnation. Just the thought of my children or any that I love spending eternity with Satan, his demons and all those who gave their hearts to darkness is unbearable. I tried not to let these thoughts make me cry but I couldn't hold it in. I felt so overwhelmed, and then I felt enormous guilt feelings like it was my fault because of my influence on their lives and every other person I come in contact with everyday. Finally I was "convicted" and I thought about how this time is still yet to come and that every second is now an opportunity to share the love of Jesus Christ to them in my burning desire for them to enter everlasting life with Almighty God.

I never did quite fully understand why the bible said that former things will pass away.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Did that mean I wouldn't remember memories of my wife, children, family and friends in everlasting life? No answer was ever satisfying to me so maybe it wasn't suppose to be. But, after my conviction last night I now think maybe the former things that will be forgotten is in fact the memories of those who did not make it. However, I believe we will remember everyone in heaven that gave their hearts to God while on earth so the only thing we lose is the memory of those who will live in darkness. It is such a nasty thought to think of someone you love living in eternal darkness but we should acknowledge this thought and make it our conviction to let the Light of God shine from within us in order to prevent these loved ones being lost forever in Hell.

Commercials For Christ

Commercials for Christ is coming along just fine. We had another spot approved "Watch and Pray" .This spot is provided by Potter's House in Australia and originally it was about a 90 second spot and although it was approved for COX Media in Las Vegas, NV they wanted it 60 seconds or less. I told Potter House about this and they had this spot edited at 59 seconds the same day. Thank You Lord for having your faithful servants share your Glory with us. I am sure the spots in high quality are on there way to US from Australia. Our next step is to see how much spots are going to cost exactly and see what budget the Lord will lead. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada so I cannot tell you how excited I really am to see this material on our cable subscribers television sets.

In America we know hardly anything about being beaten for loving Jesus Christ. In America we are not familiar with living in homes that are made from tarps and rags. Imagine the hotness of the heat of the day in summer hours and the freezing cold in the winter moments in these kind of living conditions. To make it all worse these people don't even know Jesus Christ so therefor they have no Comforter. Some may wonder how you can live under these circumstances or how missionaries can serve God under these conditions. We know it's the love of God that drives us but please make a permanent note that prayer is a mighty tool for all missionaries in the world.

The Scripture: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4

The Image: Light from the sun, sky, and clouds reflects on Lake Michigan. Sunlight and the distant horizon form a cross filling the whole image. In the beginning God spoke the universe into existence through Jesus Christ, the Word. Jesus, the light of men, died on a cross to save sinners, including me and you. In heaven there will be no need for a lamp or for the light of the sun, because the glory of God will give it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.

Not much seems to be known about early Christian Art in the first two centuries after the death of Jesus Christ. Some of the first manifestations of Christian Art were 3-D paintings on the walls of the catacombs in Rome. They mainly consisted of the biblical figures Daniel, Susanna and Jonah.

Egypt developed a unique type of Christian art that is known as Coptic art. Coptic art was unique by its high degree of stylizing merging on abstraction. Some remains of old wall paintings reveal scenes from both the Old and New Testaments and many images of the Mother and Child. Here is an example of Coptic art.


Today, Christian Art is a powerful tool and gift to share GOD'S message. Becoming more envolved with Christian Art will strengthen your relationship with God the Father and help keep your eyes where they should be; upon the Lord.
